Coral reefs are vital ecosystems that support a rich diversity of marine life and provide countless benefits to both humans and the environment. However, they face numerous threats such as climate change, pollution, overfishing and habitat destruction. The process of coral reefs dying is called coral bleaching. It happens when the coral’s environment changes, by e.g. water getting warmer or the acidity of water changes.
Thankfully, people all ages can do various things to help protect coral reefs. If properly educated and trained, even small kids can contribute to coral reef protection. No matter if you leave far away from corals, your actions still have an impact on them.
